Dr. Arthur Yin Fan (Fan Ying),is a leading specialist in Acupuncture and Chinese herbology, and has two decades of clinical experience in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western medicine. In China, he was awarded an M.D. degree in TCM and a Ph.D. in Chinese Internal Medicine. He completed a years training in the Western medicine diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders (problems of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles) as well as a six-year medical residency combining TCM and Western internal medicine.
An evaluator of the Medical Science Research Grant Applications for NIH and the Singapore national government, Dr. Fan is currently a consultant for the Integrative Medicine program at the University of Maryland medical school. He has also conducted CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) research for the Georgetown University Medical School's program in nutrition and herbology.
Practicing in the Washington, D.C.-Virginia area since 2002, Dr. Fan employs TCM as Alternative or complementary treatment for patients with pain, neurological, endocrinological, immunological, and inflammatory disorders. He is one of very few doctors who has both PhD (in TCM clinical specialty) and MD background(trained in China, in both Chinese and conventional medicine) and currently practices in USA.
Dr. Fan holds the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) certificate in Oriental Medicine, which comprises of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, and Asian Bodywork.
